Running on Empty For Fast Weight Loss

People trying to loss weight fast will often attempt to do cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The question is, is this an effective method for fast weight loss or are you just subjecting your body to more stress than is necessary.

Let me start out by saying that some people like to run on an empty stomach and my belief is that if you don’t bonk then it is perfectly fine to run on an empty stomach. If however you tend to wipe out quickly then you are better off having a bit shortly before your run.

The idea is that you need to fuel your body to reach your maximum state of effectiveness for a run. If you run on empty you are not going to be able to preform well enough to really make that much of a difference.

Your body runs on a combination of carbs and fat all of the time and we do burn a lot of carbs in the 8 or so hours while we sleep. So, wouldn’t it stand to reason that if you want to loose some weight fast that you can do cardio on empty and burn straight fat?

My take on this is that if you can’t get a good session of cardio before eating then don’t do it, it will be ineffective and stressful. forcing your body past the breaking point is a hard thing to do mentally and even harder to recover from. Yes, we are here to break our bodies down and build them back up, but within reason.

The best advice I can give you her is to try it an see what works for you. Keep in mind that you can train your body to work more efficiently off of a fat heavy energy source, but as I have previously mentioned it is hard work. When training on empty fatigue sets in quickly and the fun goes out of staying in shape very quickly.

Many people have had great success with this model and it will continue to be pushed as a fast weight loss option as people continue to get results.
