Rosacea can be triggered by sun exposure, sudden weather changes, alcohol, spicy food and emotional stress. Although the said skin ailment can be a hereditary disease, making sure that you take care of your body and your skin is a great way to avoid rosacea. People with extremely sensitive skin are usually prone to rosacea especially those with a lot of allergies because even if these are two separate things, allergies can trigger rosacea. What is interesting about this disease is that, only people with fair skin are affected by it.
Rosacea treatment differs from one person to another. Those with thickening skin caused by rosacea however are advised to undergo dermabrasion or electrocautery. Laser surgery and light therapy are also two other options.

Topical antibiotic creams are usually applied at least 2 times a day, the active ingredients in these cream include any of the following: azalaic acid, metronidazole, erythromycin, clindamycin, sulfur, and sodium sulfacetamide.
Oral antibiotics for rosacea are also given to patients but these are not retained for the long term, these are only used to minimize discomfort and get rid of pink patches on the patient’s skin.
Those with severe rosacea on the other hand are given isotretinoin although this requires close monitoring by the dermatologist. For those who want to get rid of their rosacea quickly, intense pulsed light (IPL) for rosacea is a great method. Before going through it however make sure you have tried all the other non-surgical methods because it is possible that all you need is a powerful cream.
