In the weight loss industry, there are a lot of lies, and there is a lot of misinformation. That is why American is getting fatter and fatter, despite the billions of dollars each year that is spent on weight loss products, gadgets, pills, etc. I am here to hopefully help to clear up some of the myths that surround losing weight, and hopefully you’ll be able to learn the truths, and be well on your way to being able to lose weight fast.
1) Myth: Muscle weighs more than fat (so don’t build muscle when trying to lose weight). This one is tricky because it is half-true. Muscle does weigh more than fat, but not enough to make a difference. When you build up lean muscle mass, that is the best way to be able to burn fat off of your body. Not only will you burn fat when you are working out if you have increased muscle mass, but you’ll also be burning fat throughout the day, even when you’re not working out. That’s a great deal!
2) Myth: Cardio is great for weight loss. Cardio is easy compared to lifting weights and other strength training exercises, mainly because you don’t get sore muscles as much the next day. The problem is, your body gets used to the running motion, and so it gets a lot better, or more efficient, at doing it. While that helps you to run faster and for longer periods, it doesn’t help you burn fat. In fact, you may be burning less fat although you are running longer. Spend time lifting weights, which builds up some good muscle mass, and that will burn the fat for you as I described above.
3) Myth: Don’t drink water because you’ll get water weight. This is one of the silliest myths in the lose weight fast world, because the exact opposite is true. If you’re not getting enough water each day, your body will actually hold onto it, causing you to weigh more on the scale because of that water weight. If you are drinking enough water each day, then your body knows it’ll be replenished, so it will release most of the water it’s holding onto that is not essential. Plus, drinking water helps your body to run better, which is great for metabolism, which burns fat for you.
