A wheat head pad is a great product that can be used either warm or cold it depends on what you need. They are great for areas with extremely cold weather as they can be heated easily in the microwave or oven. You could also make it cold by popping it in the freezer to form a flexible and easy to use chill packs. They are a great alternative to the conventional electric heat pad, and cheaper too.
The conventional hot water bottles can be very messy as they leak this is not a problem with the wheat heat pad. There is no water involved all you have to do is heat the bad and just apply to the desired area. Another advantage of a wheat heat pad is that it molds to the body’s shape unlike the stiff hot water bottle. These pads usually stay warm for an hour.
Wheat heat pads come in a variety of colors and soft covers. They can be easily made at home if you don’t want to waste money buying one from the market. To make a wheat heat pad is fairly easy all you need are a few things such as cloth made out of thick material like cotton, canvas or tartan and for the filling you can either use flax seed or wheat.
Your cloth needs to be quite thick because it will help in protecting your skin from burning if the pad is heating too much. After selecting the desired material you’ll need to cut a square of about 18″ in length and then fold it in to half so that it is inside out. Now all you need to do it a sewing machine to stitch the cloth you will first stitch down one short side and then the long side. Keep the stitches as close as possible so that no wheat granules will come out of the bag. After this we will turn the bag inside out so as to hide the seams and fill the bag with flax seeds or wheat half way and stitch the one side left and try to seal it tight. and presto you have a homemade wheat heat pad now all you need to do it pop it in the microwave and apply it to the desired area.
