A depressed person manifests depression in many varied ways. Some lose their appetite while others turn to binge eating. While most people who are suffering depression feel a lack of energy and motivation to work and perform his or her usual activities of daily living, there are others that overwork until their body collapses. However, one thing is common to them, they want to be alone most of the time, and shy away from public appearances. These are just a few of the common signs of depression, but when depression becomes more severe, it can leave a person feeling totally hopeless and purposeless about their life and can lead to life threatening inclinations. A depressed person needs intervention through taking medication and undergoing therapies to beat their depression. And throughout this process, support must be given to the depressed person for him to her to feel valued and loved.

Nobody wants to see his or her loved one suffering from depression, because the disorder affects not only the depressed person but it also those who come into close contact. It is important to overcome depression because if left untreated, it can easily become this severe.
