Here we will enumerate the flaxseed nutritional benefits and help you know the right way to take them and how much flaxseed you can take a day.

Flaxseed can prevent gastrointestinal problems.

Inflamed intestines, constipation, loose bowel movement, and other problems with the digestive system can be avoided by simply giving your body enough fiber, and flaxseed is one of the best natural sources. Fiber cleanses the linings of the small intestines and colon, and in fact many studies show that this can also fight off colon cancer. Fiber and water work hand in hand to ensure good digestion and proper absorption of vitamins and minerals, so be sure to take flaxseeds every day as well as six to nine glasses of water.

Flaxseed can help prevent cancer.

As a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, flaxseed can inhibit the development and spread of cancer cells throughout the body, and most doctors advise their patients at risk of cancer or who are already diagnosed with the disease to increase their intake of omega 3 fats. Although you can get flaxseed and omega 3 in supplement form, you get the most benefits from taking them fresh, so go for whole and ground flaxseed to enjoy the best of the omega 3 benefits.

Flaxseed can fight off heart disease.

Omega 3 fats are also known to be extremely effective in protecting against cardiovascular disease. It seems that the more omega 3 fatty acids one has stored, the less likely he or she will be to experience problems with the heart. The acids fight off the effects of cholesterol and unhealthy fats by keeping the heart strong and in good condition. Sudden cardiac death occurs more frequently among those with low levels of omega 3 fats, and the condition is also linked to high blood pressure or hypertension.

Flaxseed can help delay premature aging.

Along with the nutrient called CoQ10, it seems that omega 3 fats can help delay aging, although flaxseeds have the added benefit of not giving the side effects of CoQ10 like dizziness, heartburn, and insomnia. Doctors can check for levels of omega 3 fats in the blood, and it seems that the longer the chains, the younger and healthier the person will look. Some trials indicate that a person with plenty of omega 3 fats in the blood can look and feel younger by five years less the biological age.

It seems that all these wonderful and extremely helpful flaxseed benefits focus on fiber and omega 3 fats, and with one to two tablespoons of flaxseed a day, you can enjoy all these benefits and more every day of your life.

This cream comes with many advantages and has become even more popular since more of the harmful chemicals have been removed. This is what attracts more people to this cream. There are different brands and types available on the market as there are with any product and each has their pros and cons, a certain cream may better for your skin type. People with sun spot, age spots, freckles, moles and even acne scars will benefit from skin whitening cream like Meladerm Dermology Skin Brightener. These creams have taken off very well because they deliver the goods and have proven to bring good results. The good results are due to the ingreditents contained in the cream. Things like vitamins, lemon and bark extracts as well as other natural products. Another reason why these products have proven to be successful is because they have been researched so well and that is their secret to success.

Are There Risks Involved with a Skin Lightening Cream?

With a skin lightening cream that contains chemicals there have been risks that have been recorded. These include bleaching that becomes permanent, thinning of the skin, redness, irritation and a blotchy complextion. This is why a lot of the creams have gone the natural route and this has helped a great deal. These creams have been useful in treating eczema, spots such as birthmarks, age and sun spots as well as freckles, but people have found using natural creams that contain ingredients that work together combining well are a much better option to take. Natural extracts from plants such as willow bark are also included in some products and this works by reducing the melanin in the skin. Of course it takes a longer period of time to actually see the results than something containing a chemical like mercury, but then most people will not be that keen on using mercury on their face.

What Skin Lightening Creams to Use?

There are various skin lightening creams one could use and this will depend on various factors. Firstly because most of the top creams are natural that will take a lot longer for the results to show and this is whrere you have to be patience. It actually works out in your favor because the creams in the past were made of chemicals and gave you the results, but also gave you some side-effects which were really serious so to have patience is a good thing. Something that has proven well is Meladerm. This is on the expensive side, but has been proved to reduced marks like freckles, birthmarks as well as age spots and sun spots. It also works well at getting rid of most of acne scars really well. You will have to wait a couple of months to see some improvement, but it will be worth the wait eventually.

There is a condition where one feels extreme pain radiating from the lumbar area and extending downwards the body. It might start around the knee and travel towards the lower legs. The pain can be mild or severe but sometimes it can also cause numbness. People who are suffering this pain usually want to know the causes of sciatic nerve pain, and its treatment options. The nervous system gives our body the ability to function normally and it is made up of complex series of nerves that goes through our entire body. It sends messages to the brain through the spine. Thus, it is our body’s most important system. However, sometimes these sciatic nerves can be pinched or compressed thus producing pain, which is known as sciatica. The causes for this pain are extensive but one common cause is aging. With age, there is a certain breakdown in one’s condition and the spine area a place that is commonly affected.

Effective Exercises for Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief

Anyone can be affected with sciatic nerve pain and the pain usually strikes without warning. However, the most common thing people who have this condition experience is that they feel a sharp pain at the lower back or in their buttocks that at times, radiate to the back of their legs, knee or foot. Sometimes, a person may only experience this at one side of their body where the impingement of the nerve has taken place. Gladly, we now have a lot of sciatic nerve pain treatments readily available these days both non-surgical and surgical in approach. A basis for the kind of treatment utilized depends on the cause behind the problem. Doing exercises for sciatic nerve pain relief is among the most common treatments highly recommended by doctors. They aren’t only effective but they are likewise simple to do provided that you are taught well by a professional. Plus, you can actually do this in your own homes so it’s totally worth it.

Sciatic Nerve Pain During Pregnancy Will Not Last Forever!

Sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy is not uncommon, but the good news is that it won’t last forever and as soon as the baby is born or when you start to lose most of the weight you will start to feel like your normal self again. Sciatica involves the sciatic nerve rubbing against the disc or muscle and this is from bending down and picking up objects. Sometimes this is more than you can cope with, especially when you are carrying a weight like this. To cope with this it is important that you don’t rest too much. This would seem like the natural thing to do, but it is usually worse when you wake up or when you sit down for long periods. Going to a pilates class or doing gentle stretches will help ease the pain. Don’t do anything that will stretche the hamstring because this will be too strenuous. Read more about this by Lisa here.

Do you feel so tensed and it seems like you’re always having this heavy object on your shoulders? If your answer is yes then it is most likely that you are experiencing stress and anxiety. Stress or anxiety is our body’s natural reaction to tension, pressure and any other challenges that we have been facing on a daily basis. Stress and anxiety can be helpful when it is kept at a manageable level. It will help people be always on their toes, ready to take action any time. But, when stress and anxiety start to become a hindrance to the individual’s productivity then something must be done. The following are some of the easy and safe ways for you to keep your stress and anxiety at manageable level:

Get rid of toxins. Smoking cigarettes and drinking alcoholic beverages can never relieve you from stress and anxiety. Although some people claim that they feel they are being relieved from stress and anxiety after they smoke or after they drink alcohol. Unfortunately, these people fail to realize that once the effects of nicotine and alcohol wears off their stress and anxiety will become doubled. As a result, it not only drives them to addiction but as well as into the worsening of their stress and anxiety. Drinking coffee is also another habit that must be eliminated if not kept at a moderate level. Coffee contains stimulants that will only exacerbate the symptoms of anxiety and stress. In addition, these bad habits will only contribute to the chemical imbalance of your body making you less capable of fighting against stress and anxiety.

Stick to an exercise regimen. If you make it a habit to exercise every morning your body will become healthier against stress and anxiety. It is not necessary that the exercise regimen will be done in a gym. Brisk walking or biking every morning is already enough to relieve you from the pressure and tension which have been brewing inside you. By sweating it all out through any physical activity your body will also be able to get rid of toxins through perspiration.

Find time to relax. Relaxing does not always mean sleeping. Going out with friends for a nutritious dinner and taking the time out for a picnic with your family are some of the simple ways to relax. Being surrounded with people whom you love and who loves you is enough to make you feel relaxed. Laughing out with friends and family will relieve you from stress and anxiety without the need for any medications.

Depending on the severity of the disorder, these “apneic events” can occur as many as hundreds of times throughout the course of a night’s sleep for as long as 10 seconds at a time. Most times the person snores or gasps during these events while the body tries to sustain respiration. This is why snoring is one of the more common symptoms of sleep apnea.

And apneic event is described as being a period of time when respiration either is greatly reduced or stopped altogether. To put it simply this happens when a person stops breathing for up to 10 seconds while they sleep. A good sign of sleep apnea is if your breathing becomes hindered to the point where you’re unable to intake at least 25% of an ordinary breath. Overall this can create up to a 4% reduction in oxygen in the blood. There’s also the danger of your airway becoming completely obstructed. Typically this happens because of the relaxation of muscles in the throat, the soft palate, and the tongue. This characterizes obstructive sleep apnea which is the most common form of the sleep disorder. I myself suffer from obstructive sleep apnea.

Most of the time these sleep apnea events will occur while a person is completely asleep, and completely unaware of what is happening. They’ll wake up the next day, and aside from feeling very fatigued and unrested, they won’t have any idea that these events took place over the course of the night. Often times you can tell what happened the night before if you wake up feeling extremely tired and you have a very sore throat due to snoring. In very rare occurrences the sleep apnea might actually wake up the person because they stop breathing for so long, or the reflexive gasping for air awakens them. In my own personal experience however, this has never happened to me.

If you experience heavy snoring or excessive daytime sleepiness, or if you feel like you fall asleep at times during the day when usually awake, you really should consult your doctor about having a sleep study or other tests performed to diagnose whether you have sleep apnea or some other sleeping disorder. Not speaking with a professional and not being diagnosed could turn out to be very dangerous, as untreated sleep apnea can be life-threatening. We have been able to define sleep apnea but it’s more important to continue researching it, and for those who suffer from it treatment should be sought out before it becomes a dangerous condition.

Not all reasons for feet pain can be easily observed, for even a sudden pain in a small area like the big toe can have various causes, like turf toe symptoms, a cracked toenail, or even a fracture. Feet pain should be checked by a podiatrist, but in the meantime, you can try the safe and easy tips below to relieve yourself of feet pain, based on the RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) method that podiatrists and first aid treatments all recommend.

- Stop standing up and moving around. In fact, if you can find somewhere to sit down and rest, then you should do so as soon as possible. Mild cases of feet pain may only require a few hours of rest, such as a stubbed toe or a slightly stretched ankle, and the most serious of foot injuries like open wounds and broken bones will still require you to get off your feet.
- Press something cold to the painful area. Any kind of pain or inflammation will benefit from an ice pack, and even a cold water bottle will do at a moment’s notice. Ice packs will keep your blood and other fluids from rushing to the injured area, toning down swelling and pain and lessening the risk of bleeding and bruising. You may hear that a warm pack will be better for healing feet pain, but the Fitnez blogsite states that a hot press will only cause blood to flood to the injury, increasing pain rather than relieving it.
- For pain caused by open wounds, you will need to compress the area to stop bleeding. For large wounds, a handkerchief or bandanna can make an effective tourniquet, and the concern here is to slow down the flow of blood as soon as possible. Smaller wounds will need you to keep pressing an absorbable cloth into the wound to help the blood clot quickly.
- Raise the injured foot to a height higher than your chest area. Lie down if you have to, for the important thing here is to stop blood flow, especially for bleeding wounds. If you are already being treated for turf toe or a foot sprain, elevating the foot can increase comfort and speed up recovery.

And during that time thousands of people have lost weight by limiting the amount of sugar and starchy carbohydrates they consume. If followed correctly, this low carb diet plan can help you to lose weight and keep it off.
But, during this same time many people have not had success with losing weight. They claim to be following a low carb diet but the weight just will not drop off. So what gives?
I have found there are usually three reasons a person is not successful and it really has nothing to do with there being problems with a low carb diet. Instead it is usually centered on another aspect.

Most of the time people don’t understand that trying to lose weight by diet alone is very difficult if not almost possible. You must have an exercise program to go along with your healthy eating. Oh sure, you can fast and lose weight but it is not good for your body and it is not sustainable. If you spend at least an hour a day four times a week in aerobic exercise then your body will turn into a net fat burner.

Drink enough water. Our bodies need a minimum of one gallon of pure water a day. If we don’t get it our cells will not function properly and thus they can’t burn the fat you have accumulated. You must be hydrated in order to transform the fat into fatty acids which can be burned by your body for energy. Most flavored drinks have sugar and coffee and colas have caffeine is a diuretic which means it actually gets rid of water from your body.

Vary your diet. You can lose weight on most diets but the real question is how long will the weight stay off. The best way to continue to lose weight and to stay slim once you stop dieting is to have a wide variety of food to choose from. You can use a low carb food list to help you vary what you eat.

If you are serious about getting thinner then a low carb diet is really great. But be sure you don’t fall into one of the other traps like no exercise, dehydration, or boredom. The only way to find long term relief is to have an overall health plan that covers all aspects of your life.

Snoring is an extremely common occurrence. In fact, studies have shown that 45 percent of men and 30 percent of men snore on a regular basis. Snoring is a nuisance, but it may also indicate a serious health problem. Sleep apnea, which is a condition that causes a person to stop breathing throughout the night, is one of the most common causes of snoring. If this condition is left untreated, it can result in serious health problems. For that reason, people who snore on a regular basis should be checked for sleep apnea.

People who consume alcohol right before bed time are also more likely to snore. Alcohol causes the throat muscles to relax. People may be able to eliminate snoring by eliminating their intake of alcohol a few hours before going to bed.

Snoring is more common in overweight people. The extra weight puts pressure on the throat and causes the airways to constrict. Losing as little as ten to fifteen pounds can help alleviate snoring.

Problems with the nasal passages can also contribute to snoring. One of the most common nasal problems is a deviated septum. Surgery can correct a deviate septum.

How to sleep better at night naturally

Most people take a good night’s rest for granted, but it is something that some are not getting enough of. There are many ways that people can sleep better at night. One of those ways is having a consistent bed time. People should try to go to bed and get up around the same time everyday, even on the weekends. A person is more likely to sleep if he or she sticks to a consistent schedule. Getting thirty minutes or more of exercise per day can also make it easier for a person to sleep. However, people should avoid exercising a few hours before bedtime.

They’re important for a number of reasons, many of which tell us how critical they are in the day to day functioning of our bodies.

We’ll tackle them one at a time, and then tell you why they should be taken together.

Why Calcium Is Important

Everyone has heard this one – you can’t watch TV for more than a few minutes before seeing an ad for calcium supplements. The facts are that calcium is essential for healthy, strong teeth and bones, and therefore it’s a main factor in osteoperosis (which is defined as the loss of bone density over time) – and it’s this teeth/bone angle that the advertisers target.

What you might not know is that it is also critical to:

the normal clotting of blood

enabling your muscles to contract

help transmit neural impulses

maintain cell stability

The recommended amount of calcium that an adult needs every day is between 1000-1200mg. We can get all of this from a well-rounded diet, but many (most?) of us aren’t getting enough this way. Menopausal women, vegetarians, those that are lactose intolerant, and others, may find their diets are insufficient and they need to supplement (or change your diet).

It’s easy to find good sources of dietary calcium. Some of the more common ones are:

milk and milk products (like cheese and yogurt)

calcium-fortified drinks like soy milk

tofu

navy beans

salmon

oranges

Look online for lists of good sources of calcium. It’s pretty easy to find these items for your diet once you know what to look for. But it can be easier for some to supplement with a daily pill containing the extra calcium they need.

Why Is Magnesium Important Too?

Calcium gets all the press (advertisers love it), but magnesium is really important as well. It’s roles in your body include:

assisting in the proper formation of bone

regulation of body temperature

maintenance of proper muscle and nerve function

used in the release of energy from muscles

helps absorb calcium

This last point is significant. Without sufficient magnesium, your body cannot absorb calcium. So you could supplement your diet with all kinds of calcium (and I’m sure that lots do) and it makes no difference because your body cannot absorb it due to a lack of magnesium.

Good dietary sources of magnesium would include:

almonds

spinach

cashews

oatmeal

rice

Again, this stuff is easy to research online and find in the grocery store. Recommended daily allowances for magnesium are in the 320-420mg range (for adults, children are less).

Why Take Calcium and Magnesium Together?

Knowing that you can’t have calcium without magnesium is the tie that binds these two minerals together. The absorption equation that scientists have worked out is that you need about a 2:1 ratio of calcium:magnesium to absorb the calcium.

That’s why you’ll often see them sold together in pills at the 2:1 ratio. Sometimes there’s a little Vitamin D3 thrown in there as well, because it aids in calcium absorption too.

Calcium and Magnesium can help with insomnia, although a bit differently than their symbiotic relationship would suggest. Independently, researchers found that low levels of calcium are related to poor quality (or no) REM sleep – and REM sleep is very important. They also know that symptoms of not enough magnesium in your bloodstream presents itself as chronic insomnia (specifically, frequent awakenings).

So it can have a multi-benefit to you by taking the two minerals either as a supplement (if you suspect your deficient), or in modifying your diet to include some of the hundreds of sources of these important components of a healthy body.

One of the main culprits of oily skin after using these products that are designed to help with oily skin is silicone based products. The reason that companies put these in is to make the product creamier and go on easily. The person will find that after using this that their skin will feel like silk. However, underneath this layer of silkiness there are tons of things going on and for the person that is battling oily skin, it is nothing good. The pores are not able to breathe, thus all that oil that was on the face is being trapped under there where the person will more than likely develop acne and have tons of bacteria present on the skin.

Petroleum based ingredients, such as mineral oil is often found in every type of skin care product that is out there. The person will find that if they are serious about stopping their oily skin that they are going to want to avoid using these products. The petroleum based products are going to make the skin look good on the outside, yet they are just encouraging the bacteria and toxins to grow underneath this layer of perfection, which is going to lead to even more oil than before.

Most people when they want to find a skin care product are going to think of going with a natural product since they believe that this is going to help them restore the natural balance to their skin. But, in most natural products, the person will find that beeswax is in these. And beeswax is going to form a layer that on the skin that will be unable to be penetrated by other products that the person may use. And the air is also going to be unable to get to the skin, which is going to cause the pores to become clogged and can lead to many other problems.

Overall, as a person that suffers from oily skin, you will want a product that is not containing these ingredients. However, this does not mean that you should stick away from moisturizers altogether. You will want a skin care moisturizer that is made for oily skin. These products usually contain water and alcohol based formulas that will hydrate yet still allow the skin to breathe. You will almost be able to tell whether these products are good for oily skin or not, just by the consistency of the lotion.
